Our Lady of Guadalupe is the title of the Blessed Virgin Mary associated with this venerated image enshrined within the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. The basilica is the most visited Catholic pilgrimage site in the world, and the world's third most-visited sacred site.
This image miraculously appeared in 1531 on the cloak of a Mexican peasant who was presenting a gift of roses to the bishop in Mexico City from the Blessed Virgin.
