Reimagining Saint Faustina Kowalska’s sacred vision and Eugeniusz Kazimirowski’s original 1934 masterpiece, Faustina’s Vision offers a deeply reverent, luminous interpretation of the Divine Mercy. Kevin Pawlowski depicts Jesus Christ with His right hand raised in blessing while His left hand gently indicates His heart, from which radiant red and pale rays emanate, symbolizing the blood and water poured out for human salvation.
To achieve a warm, ethereal glow that feels grounded in real dimension, Pawlowski utilized Old Master techniques. Starting with a monochromatic underpainting (grisaille), he built up the form through hundreds of delicate, transparent layers of oil glazing and scumbling. The rays of light feature dry brushwork and subtle prismatic color variations near the bottom, blending physical realism with divine transcendence.
The result is an extraordinarily luminous piece that bridges the historical devotion with a fresh contemporary presence, inviting quiet prayer and trust in God’s infinite mercy.
Available as the original oil painting on canvas or in fine museum-quality giclée reproductions.
