Rendered in contemporary realism, Cast Down captures the ultimate climax of the heavenly war between good and evil. Inspired by the heroic style, bold compositions, and dynamic energy of legendary fantasy artist Frank Frazetta, Saint Michael the Archangel stands resolute over the defeated adversary, depicted as a formidable dragon-like serpent. With his foot placed firmly upon Satan’s body, Saint Michael wields a sword of blue flames that casts a supernatural glow across the entire scene, illuminating both victor and vanquished.

Pawlowski’s intense contrast of light and shadow highlights the resolute composure of the Archangel against the enemy’s defiant snarl. Set within a smoldering landscape born of cosmic conflict, the painting uses thick, expressive brushwork to give physical weight to the armor, wings, and fiery illumination. The result is a dynamic visual testimony to divine protection and the ultimate triumph of God’s authority.

Available as the original oil painting on canvas as well as museum-quality giclée reproductions.
