Painted in the spontaneous alla prima technique, this original oil portrait captures the radiant warmth, profound compassion, and unwavering faith of Saint Teresa of Calcutta. By completing the painting in a single, wet-on-wet session, Kevin Pawlowski infuses the canvas with an immediate energy and fresh presence that echoes the energetic, hands-on charity of Mother Teresa’s daily life among the poorest of the poor.
Clad in her iconic white sari edged with blue stripes, Mother Teresa is depicted with soft, contemplative eyes and a gentle expression that reflects her deep union with Christ. Pawlowski’s expressive, visible brushstrokes lend an emotional texture to her weathered face, emphasizing both her earthly humility and her saintly dignity. The resulting work serves as a moving invitation to see the face of Christ in every person we meet.
This original oil painting is avaiable at The Sacred Art Gallery.
