While living in Alaska she was exposed to the influence of the Russian settlement of Alaska -- their orthodox churches, unique burial yards, art work and Icons.<br> Her major ... <a id=\"showMore\" onclick=\"_gaq.push([\"_trackEvent\", \"MoreLess\", \"Artist\", \"More\"]);\" href=\"#\">more<\/a><\/span><span id=\"alltext\" style=\"display:none\">Gail has been an artist since childhood graduating from the University of Alaska in Fairbanks with a degree in Fine Art. While living in Alaska she was exposed to the influence of the Russian settlement of Alaska -- their orthodox churches, unique burial yards, art work and Icons.<br> Her major interests in art are the Portrait, Calligraphy and also Manuscript Illumination. All of this fits well when 'writing' an Icon. An Icon is \"Theology in Color\". Her work is done in acrylic and is highly glossed to illuminate the vibrant colors. It looks especially well on the acrylic and metal print.
