Many of these churches\u00a0have been sadly neglected. Artist and designer Celeine Minton is working us to create sacred spaces that are worshipful and in keeping with the Native American culture to create a sense of reverence and beauty.\u00a0We are now in the process of commissioning artists for several pieces including a paintings for niches and a carved wooden sculpture of St. Kateri Tekakwitha.<\/p>\n<p>The principle mission of the Franciscan Friars of the Holy Spirit is to the Native Americans in the Diocese of Phoenix. Our community&#8217;s home and formation house, St Kateri Tekakwitha Friary can be found on the Gila River Indian Reservation. Kateri<br \/>\n\t<\/h3>\n<p>We are in contact with master sculptor Fernando Giron to sculpt a 5-foot statue of Bl. Kateri Tekakwitha.<\/p>\n<p>Fernando has created many of the beautiful carvings at St. Daniel&#8217;s Church in Scottsdale, AZ.
