The Christ Child

"Faith, Hope, and Love" refers to the three theological virtues. The red rose is a symbol of Christ and his Passion. The bud, a young version of the blossoming rose, represents the hope that the Christ and youth in general brings. Seeing the bud we have faith knowing it will bloom as it begins to grow. The rose is, of course a symbol of love. The sphere is both the parable of the mustard seed and, as a sphere, a time-honored symbol of God, the alpha and the omega.
