I began my adventure in calligraphy in 2016. It started as a small collection of fountain pens, which grew to include broad-nib calligraphy pens. After giving several pieces as gifts and occasionally being paid small amounts by friends to do custom work, I opened my Etsy shop in 2018.


My talent grew with time; my letters became more refined and I expanded the range of my work to include styles of illumination from the Medieval and Renaissance periods. I began to really love religious art; specifically, I loved creating manuscript-style copies of common prayers and quotes - the type of thing that is often memorized and then repeated without much thought. I had the idea that by writing each letter and each word with care and thought, I was growing closer to God, one letter at a time.

After growing this business as a 'side-gig' to my teaching career, I've taken an enormous leap of faith - this has been my full-time job since Summer 2022. God willing, what started as a hobby and grew into a small business will carry me and my family to a bright future.
