Born on May 1st, 1955, in Dickinson, ND, Fran began painting over 50 years ago, and it has been a passion that he has pursued throughout his life. He attended Dickinson State College for 2 years, where he majored in Art, and later transferred to North Dakota State College of Science for another 2 years, majoring in Architectural Design.
Fran’s love of art was put into every building he helped create. Now that his career in architecture is winding down, he's been able to focus more on painting. He has been selling his artwork privately for some time and has only recently began exhibiting publicly.
Fran's style is realism, and his landscapes depict the places that have made an impression on him or that he dreams of visiting. His works are often painted on slabs of wood or slate, although he also works on canvas. On top of private sales, he has also donated several pieces to charities for their silent auctions to help support his community.
